UGHHH! My life...sometimes I feel like my life is going down the drain and I wonder where I went wrong.
And then I think about what all God has really given me and wonder what am I complaining about. a wonderful woman from our church sang a song a little while ago and it just struck the right chord in my life. I think that sometimes we look at our lives and complain about what is going on but we never think about where God is in our lives and what he is using this trial/triumph for.
Where is Jesus when you're on the phone with a bill collector, and you get angry at their arrogant, sarcastic, nasty tone of voice that would test the patience of any Christian? What about when your ex is putting extra restrictions on your for visitation this weekend, which was already agreed upon last week? What about that bank account, which is dwindling, making it difficult for you to buy tonight's dinner? What about illness?
Is God in our lives?
Yes!! Jesus promised that he would enter our lives if we ask Him!
I John 5:14 (KJV)
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will he heareth us:
At the moment you are asking the question, "Where is God in my life? Why isn't He making it stop?", at that very moment, ask yourself just how long Jesus has been watching what you have been going through. Do you think He has just stepped on the scene? Do you think He wasn't watching you all along? Do you think you came up, all on your own, with the thought to think of him and question where he is?
Jesus sees all! The Bible said it would happen. The apostles, the prophets, and Christ Himself said these things. Stop and think the next time you wonder where God is. Trust that He knows exactly what He is doing, and He will bring you out of the darkness at just the right time. You may not see it happen, but you can look back on your life to recall the tragic events or misfortune you endured and see the exact moment that God brought you out of it.
Did you cause the problem to end? Or, did your Sovereign God act in your favor once again?
Learn to trust in God without questions, and you have mastered one of the greatest mysteries of all time!
